when you waoke up it seems like everything around just was’nt the same,yeah for sure something is missing or even yet everything was. we always try to be someone we always try to find someone.
Someone? we spend too much time looking for someone but we do not realize we are searching for ourselves.
when a firework doesn’t explode,is it safe?
When I was a little boy me and my cousins used to buy fireworks. I love to play with fireworks the louder it gets, the better. Being a kid you don’t realize the danger handling those kinds of fireworks,specially the “lebentador” it comes with different sizes,the largest one I’ve seen lately is the Goodbye Philippines! the name was kinda funny but it’s really enormous!December,this is the month when we start playing fireworks since the new year is up ahead.
Two safety rules when lighting a lebentador:
1.) Don’t hold the body,hold the fuse when lighting it, the fuse is long but it burns very fast so when it reaches your fingers before you actually throw it,you’re fingers will get burned and you can easily withdraw that lessens the risk for the lebentador to blow on your hand.
2.) When the lebentador didn’t explode after the fuse has already burned,don’t pick it up,cause it might blow up any moment.
Being a child you are a risk taker, i used to hold those fireworks anyway I want,but then I suffered the consequences,a lebentador blew at my hand before I can throw it,that happened twice. Good thing I didn’t loose any of my fingers. Also one of the best part of new year was the morning after all the loud noise. We used to walk around the village looking for fireworks that didn’t blew up,even though we knew it might blow unexpectedly, we simply didn’t care we simply were just kids.
It was fun being a kid and it was also fun being a lebentador. Sometimes there are instances that you don’t have to explode. You yourself! I, I am the one who can control my own fuse to ignite,It’s one of the hardest thing to control It’s one of the easiest thing to happen. If you dont have control over yourself you will easily blow up and after blowing up you find the things around you scattered and broken. That is the time when you wished you had a longer fuse or didn’t even ignited all the way in the first place.
Like when I was a kid the lebentador blew in my hand,i didn’t had the chance to throw it away and damaging the place where it might fall. It blew,it was painful it wont happen again.The pain was mine and mine alone. You don’t have to feel that too.
But sometime you just wished you just exploded,but you cant. The fuse was already burned but still… I might blow up any moment,be careful
I just woke in the morning with the heavy rains and strong winds. The malunggay tree is waving it’s leaves on me by the window. The hole on my ceiling continues to drip,continues drops of water just like my heavy eyes.
Juan is making this day harder for me,but I always loved the rain. The sound it creates when it pours on the rooftop,its kinda relaxing makes me wanna sleep all day. The cool breeze whispering in your ears go ahead close your eyes worry no more everything will be fine sleep if you want to.but this time the rain is my enemy,the rain is telling me that something is wrong… everything is
Ever imagined being a tree during a storm? swaying with the strong winds and you cannot do anything but to follow where the wind is blowing you, eventually some or all of your leaves will be blown away. If you are strong enough to withstand the force of nature after the storm you are to say I’m one of the survivors and clearly you deserve to smile after all. Going with the flow of the wind makes you less vulnerable to the damage makes it less painful. Pain, that’s what separates us from from being human and a tree. When you taught you were strong,remember you are always vulnerable,even the largest trees fall because they refuse to follow the direction of the wind, they break and they fall.
Just when you are ready,just when you taught you were strong enough,never go against the wind. But what the hell even with a broken branch or a broken twig and with all of my leaves fallen apart. The heavy winds can’t lift me away from my roots, all that has been lost will grow eventually time will heal wounds.
